DMF In MOTION :

DANCE WORKSHOP

SEPTEMBER 19TH | LOS ANGELES, CA EARLY BIRD RATE AVAILABLE UNTIL 09/01

More Than Movement.

Dance has the power to transform usβ€”but so does feeling seen, supported, and connected.

The DMF: In Motion Dance workshop is a one-day experience designed to strengthen the whole dancer. Created by the Devon Michael Foundation, this event brings together exceptional dance education, mental wellness, and authentic community to remind dancers that their worth extends far beyond the stage.

Throughout the day, you'll train with renowned faculty, begin with guided breathwork, explore tools for mental wellness and performance, and hear honest conversations from professionals about navigating careers, confidence, body image, and mental health. Together, we'll celebrate growth through scholarship opportunities, raffle giveaways, and a community that believes movement can be a powerful tool for healing.

Whether you're preparing for a professional career, training to become your best, or simply looking to reconnect with your love of dance, this experience is for you.

  • "As dancers, we're taught to push our limits every day. While that resilience is something I'm deeply grateful for, I believe the strongest artists are the ones who learn to care for themselves, too."

why dance?

Dance has always been at the heart of our family's story.

For over 14 years, Jeanette Cota owned and directed a dance studio in Michigan, where she witnessed the confidence, creativity, discipline, and lifelong friendships that dance can foster. Ava Michelle grew up in that studio before pursuing a professional career as a dancer, actress, and choreographer. And Devon, whose life inspired the Devon Michael Foundation, also spent many years dancing, finding joy, purpose, and community through movement.

Our family has experienced both the beauty and the challenges of the dance world. We know the pressure, the comparison, the setbacks, and the resilience it takes to keep showing up. But we also know the healing power of movement.

That's why we created DMF: In Motionβ€”to create a space where dancers are supported not only as artists, but as people. Because we believe the strongest performers are those who feel connected, confident, and cared for both on and off the dance floor.
