OUR MISSION

The Devon Michael Foundation is founded by Jeanette Cota and Ava Michelle Cota after the loss of their son/brother to an accidental Fentanyl Poisoning.

A 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission to spread awareness about the Mental Health and Fentanyl crisis and help support individuals in pursuing a healthy and fulfilled life by getting them the help they may need.

THE

PROBLEM

Education and resources surrounding the Fentanyl and Mental Health crisis remain to be way too little. Fentanyl deaths are still growing and little is being done to effectively stop the spread of fake pills. Access to types of treatment are too hard and take too long. The stigma that has surrounded these topics stop people from sharing, and force them to isolate themselves, resulting in more depression, anxiety, self-medication and self-harm.

OUR

SOLUTION

Social media is the primary sources of news, information, and connection for youth and adults alike. The Devon Michael Foundation is leveraging this access point to spread information in formats that youth can easily relate to. DMF is uniquely positioned to be very effective through their large platform of over 3 million viewers. Viral campaigns have proven to be extremely effective in educating large audiences, and education saves lives. We have systems in place to support those who are seeking treatment to find them the right care as quickly as possible.

“He would want people to know it can happen to anyone.”
